WHAT JESUS TAUGHT ABOUT HEAVEN? ( Part 5 )

Heaven Is A Place 

Heaven is a place. According to the Sermon on the Mount ( in particular, Matthew 6 and John 14), Heaven is an actual place–not a vacuum for bodiless beings to float through clouds! It is the place where God is and His glorious Presence is made known to bless.

This prompts the next question: what is it like? 

Surprisingly our Lord did not describe it in any detail.

It is as if He is less concerned with what it will be like, but rather how we get ourselves ‘in’.

Abba Father, we want to know the details of the Place rather than the Person and Presence of our Lord in Heaven. Forgive our errant minds to major in minors. Let us learn that Heaven is not just a place we must attain to at all costs. Instead, let us desire the priceless fellowship with the Godhead where there will be the fullness of joy that is beyond our finite minds and limited understanding.

Indeed let us realize we shall not be out and about claiming our homestead in unchartered territory as first stake-holders but dwelling in the peace of Your House forever ( Psalm 23:6 )

Psalm 23:6

And I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
