THE NEW JERUSALEM #1

This new series is to create awareness for believers of their eternal home in Heaven in a garden city called the New Jerusalem.

Otherwise, they still think that their sweet bye and bye will be on some distant shore! Or worse Heaven is in the nebulous clouds! 

To begin with, many say he or she has a favourite city on earth. And they will share their personal reasons why if you care to listen. They will take endless tours to the capital cities on the bucket list and yet have no idea of their final destination in God's plan and purposes.

Sadly not many are remotely interested in the New Jerusalem which is our future Heaven on earth. Yes, on earth! As the saying goes: " Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die".

Scripture tells us that after the 1,000-year millennial reign of Jesus, God is going to make a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH.

Then the entire NEW JERUSALEM shall descend to take its place forever on the remade earth:

" And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea " ( Revelation 21:1 ). 

The word NEW ( Greek: KAINOS ) does not mean something brand-new. It means  "qualitatively new".

But the old earth will be far different when God is through with it. We haven't seen anything yet!

Abba Father, You will fully renew the earth of which You originally created and said, " It is good!". You renew the Earth, all the pollutants and ravages of man's sin, rebellion, and misuse will be gone - and the earth and sky will become perfectly pure and clean again. Indeed "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard " of the full creation that awaits us ( 1 Cor. 2:9 ). We may not be able to visualise the New Jerusalem completely but Your Word testifies that its magnificence is truly real.
