THE 9 NAMES OF THE NEW JERUSALEM

There are 9 scriptural descriptions of the New Jerusalem to enable us to better know the city of our God.

1. It is the HOLY CITY ( Rev. 21:2 ).

2. It is also personified as the BRIDE OF CHRIST ( Rev.21:2 ) - the dwelling place of His people who have been prepared to be united with His Son.

3. It is the TABERNACLE OF GOD where His throne abides ( Rev.21:3;13:6; 15:5 ).

4. It is the HOLY JERUSALEM where God Himself dwells ( Rev.21:10 ).

5. It is the GREAT CITY - the capital of the universe and matchless in splendor ( Rev.21:10 ).

6. It is also called THE NEW JERUSALEM ( Rev.21:2 ).

7. It is the HEAVENLY JERUSALEM for it surpasses the earthly Jerusalem so often " idolised" by men on earth ( Rev.12:22-23 ).

8. It is " MY FATHER'S HOUSE " - a city in which Jesus said He would go to prepare a place for us. It is indeed a place of many mansions or rooms. " If it were not so, I would have told you " (John 14:1-3 ).

9. It is the CITY OF THE LIVING GOD ( Heb.12:22-23 ).

Abba Father, Your Word gives us some keywords to appreciate New Jerusalem. Indeed it is a city whose builder and maker is You! ( Hebrews 11:10 ).
