LESSONS ON HEAVEN ( PART 16 )
DO OUR GOOD WORKS MATTER AFTER WE ARE BORN-AGAIN? ( PART 2 )
Paul uses 3 analogies to explain what will happen at the judgment seat of Christ.
Today we shall study the first analogy - we are stewards of a trust account from God:
1. Our TIME
2. Our TREASURE
3. Our TALENT ( both natural talent and spiritual gifting )
4. Our TORSO ( strength and
energy)
5. Our TEMPLE ( our service as holy priests unto God in and out of church )
We do not own anything - we are simply managers who are responsible to use our God-given assets to further God's interests and the extension of His Kingdom.
At the Bema Seat of Christ's Judgment, be prepared to answer our Lord's question: " What have you done with what I have entrusted to you?".
Abba Father, the trustee analogy highlights an essential truth: You will not judge every believer in the same way. For a trustee is only responsible for that which has been entrusted to him and her. In other words, You will not judge us by the same standard You will evaluate an amazing evangelist like the late Billy Graham. As Paul wrote: " But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt?...So then each one of us shall give an account of himself to God" ( Romans 14:10, 12 ).
Tomorrow: Paul's analogy of constructing a house as an illustration of the judgment believers will face.
