Will punishment in hell be eternal?

Yes.

According to Revelation 20: 11-15, unbelievers will be cast into the eternal lake of fire ( hell ) after the Great White Throne judgment, and they will remain there for eternity.

The greatest pain they suffer will be their eternal exclusion from the presence of God. In God's presence is ecstatic joy ( Psalm 16:11 ). His absence will be utter dismay.

Abba Father, every person must decide if he or she will spend eternity in heaven or in hell. The choice is either eternal life or eternal punishment ( Matthew 25:46 ). It is therefore an individual's own choice that brings about eternal bliss or eternal punishment.
