LESSONS ON HEAVEN (PART 4)

IS HEAVEN A BORING PLACE?

What do you think when the Bible lists 6 activities in Heaven?

1. WORSHIP WITHOUT DISTRACTION.

Worship will be the primary activity.

Revelation 4:8-11 lists 6 things about the worship of God in Heaven.

1. A celebration of God's greatness (v. 8)

2. A celebration of God's goodness (v. 9)

3. A submission before God's sovereignty (v. 10)

4. An adoration of God's person (v. 10)

5. A self-renunciation before God's glory (v. 10)

6. An exaltation of God's name (v. 11)

2. SERVICE WITHOUT EXHAUSTION

Revelation 22:3 reads:" There will no longer be any curse, and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bondservants will serve Him".

3. ADMINISTRATION WITHOUT FAILURE

Revelation 22:5 informs us that believers in heaven shall "reign forever and forever" i.e. to rule and reign from the throne of grace seated with Christ. 

4. FELLOWSHIP WITHOUT SUSPICION

Heaven is a place of limitless fellowship with saints throughout the ages (Matthew 8:11; Rev. 19:9).

5. LEARNING WITHOUT WEARINESS

"I shall know, even as I am known" (1 Cor. 13:12) because the scales over our eyes will be lifted and we will have all the time to unravel all the mysteries about God, man, and the universe.

6. REST WITHOUT BOREDOM

Revelation 14:13 tells us that the righteous will "rest from their labours, for their good deeds follow with them". A glorified spiritual body will know nothing of fatigue or exhaustion.

ABBA FATHER, life in Heaven will be full of joy, purposeful activity and worship. It can never be boring as such.
