THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

After our born-again experience, we realise the guilt of sin is gone.

Theologians call the second stage of our spiritual life in Christ the process of Sanctification.

For the indwelling sin in our old nature will still be the cause of many temptations. 

To win this battle, we need to believe in a power outside of ourselves, in the power of the Holy Spirit to sanctify us and to keep our faith in Christ who has promised that He can save us and that to the uttermost. (Hebrews 7:25). 

John writes simply: “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”(John 1:4). It is this light of Jesus’ life that we need to walk in. If we really want to obey God’s good laws of life found in His Word, we will soon find ourselves in a battle, a battle against the sin the light reveals. This is the good fight of faith!

ABBA FATHER, the process of Sanctification in a believer's life may be very painful as we uproot sin in our lives especially those sins related to our old sin nature. But Your Word in Ephesians 2 encourages us to go on towards our goal of spiritual maturity. In fact, it reveals to us what Your thoughts are for us after our initial experience of salvation. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10). Indeed You have something far greater, and even more wonderful in mind for us after we have believed You for forgiveness. This is why we still need ongoing faith in our Lord for He is the author and perfecter of our faith. ( Hebrews 12:2 ). And we need Your divine enablement and empowerment to win this good fight of faith so that we may become an overcomer in Christ and move on to the third stage of Glorification in Him.
