PAUL'S AMAZING TEACHINGS

3. PAUL ON JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH ALONE

This is one of Paul's greatest contribution to theology. It is in fact the central tenet of faith from which other doctrines flow.

In his own words:

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” (Romans 5:1).

Thus "Justification by Faith" is God's legal ruling that a sinner is not guilty, is declared innocent and now stands before God clothed in the perfect righteousness of Christ, received as a free gift, (Romans 5:17, 6:23) and not through any works the saved sinner did.

God's legal declaration is based on the Bible truth that Jesus has already paid for our sins and God the Father has already accepted His payment (2 Corinthians 5:18-21).

Therefore, when you repent of your sins and trust Jesus Christ, you can be saved without working to earn your salvation.

Abba Father, it may sound simple but it goes against our own grain of human nature that we contributed nothing to earn our own salvation, not even by any of our former deeds of goodness or kindness.

Indeed as Paul stated in Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
