DO OUR GOOD WORKS MATTER AFTER WE ARE BORN-AGAIN? ( PART 5 )
Some of you were plainly shocked that some saints in heaven will have a more heavenly rewards for their faithfulness than others.
It is good to be reminded that once you are a believer in Christ, you will realise that all your past good works as a pre-believer played no part in obtaining your salvation.
But good works after your salvation count. They play an integral role in obtaining rewards in heaven.
Listen closely to the words of Jesus and Paul:
1. Jesus said in Rev.23:12, " My reward is with Me, to render to every man ACCORDING TO WHAT HE HAS DONE".
2. Paul echoed our Lord's words when he explained that at the judgment seat of Christ, every believer will be rewarded " for his deeds in the body, ACCORDING TO WHAT HE HAS DONE " ( 2 Cor.5:10 ).
A theologian, Norman Geisler, put it this way: "Everyone in heaven will be FULLY blessed but not everyone will be EQUALLY blessed. Every believer's cup will be full and running over, but not everyone's cup will be the same size".
Abba Father, those who run the race well, who administer their trust faithfully, and who build their lives with gold, silver, and precious stones - all with the right motives - will receive their imperishable crowns of glory (1 Peter 5:4 ).
