Q n A about Heaven #7
Will our Joy in Heaven be diminished by what is happening on Earth and in Hell? ( Part 2 )
Please understand this is a difficult question to answer.
Today we shall discuss another proposition.
2. Believers will be preoccupied with the Joys of Heaven.
Some say that believers who make it to Heaven and enjoy its blessings, in spite of others' suffering, is a testimony to their selfishness.
Jesus Himself wept over the eternal destiny of the inhabitants of Jerusalem while He was on earth. But the author of Hebrews notes that He willingly "endured the cross" so that He could experience "the joy set before Him" when He took His rightful seat at the "right hand of the throne of God" ( Hebrews 12:2 ). There is no indication that He is weeping in Heaven.
And Psalm 16:11 states that complete joy will be the primary emotion of those in Heaven. " You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever".
Abba Father, in Heaven we will be just like Jesus, who experiences the "fullness of joy" in spite of all that is happening on earth and in hell. But in our human understanding, there will be those who will doubt this is possible and argue otherwise. And so the debate goes on.
