LESSON ON FAITH ( PART 4 )

THE OBEDIENCE OF FAITH

Romans 5:10 informs us who have been born-again: “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”

Jesus’ life was a life of action. “Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.” Hebrews 5:8.

It follows that to be saved by His life, I need a faith that leads me to action.

Paul calls it the obedience to the faith. (Romans 1:5)

We begin on the way of obedience on the day we are converted – when we call on His name, believe in Jesus, and confess our sins – because this is the first thing the gospel commands us to do. From then on, it is important that we continue as we have begun: being obedient at every point.

ABBA FATHER, we cannot take a single step on the way of life without personal obedience.

Everything that is needed in order to be obedient can be found and obtained in Christ Jesus, so we are without excuse.

Let us, therefore, do our utmost to be obedient in all things (2 Corinthians 10:5-6; 2 Corinthians 2:9)

For Jesus, Himself set the example in Matthew 28:20

“… teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;” – to obey every single word by faith.
