What About Reincarnation?
This relates to the belief that humans are reborn to earthly existence AFTER death.
This view has no biblical basis. Hebrews 9:27 is very straightforward: " It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment".
To the thief crucified beside Him - who believed in Him - Jesus said: " Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise" ( Luke 23:42 ). Jesus offered the thief eternal life and immediate entrance into heaven - not reincarnation.
Abba Father, reincarnation appeals to human pride - by teaching that a person's final destiny rests on human effort to redeem himself or herself through reincarnation - and not on the grace or judgment of God. Such a belief even considers human sin as a learning step in a person's upward progress. But we have only one life to live. We don't have the luxury of successive "dress rehearsals". Let us live out our three scores and twenty years solely for Your glory.
