What happens after the Millennium?
At the end of the thousand-year reign of Christ on earth, there will be one final rebellion by Satan and his forces.
Revelation 20: 7-10 tells us that Satan will be loosed at the end of the Millennium and will rebel against the Millennial reign of Christ.
In one final grasp for power and human allegiance, Satan will manifest his true nature and attempt to seize the throne of God.
According to Revelation 20:10, Satan's termination will be swift and everlasting. When he attempts to capture the capital city of Jerusalem, the fire will come down from heaven and devour him and his forces.
He will be cast into the lake of fire, joining the Antichrist and the False Prophet.
Abba Father, the lake of fire is the final form of hell from which no one, once placed there, ever leaves. The earlier thousand years of confinement in the bottomless pit did not change Satan's nature. He thus will be consigned to the lake of fire once and for all.
The judgment of Satan is then followed by the judgment of the unbelieving dead ( the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation 20:11-15 ). These judgments are the final events of the Millennium and conclude with the passing away of the present heavens and earth ( Matthew 24:35 ). John writes: " Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea" ( Revelation 21:1 ).
