From Glory to Glory ( Study 18 )
Glorification describes our ultimate and complete conformity to the image of Christ Jesus.
It is the final link in the great golden chain of salvation and it is so certain that it is going to happen that the apostle Paul refers to it as having already happened (Romans 8:30).
Our glorification has no meaning without the manifestation of Christ’s glory. It is bound up with the coming of Christ in His glory.
His finished work on the Cross, we are saved and we will be saved. We are justified and one day we will be glorified. The apostle Paul speaks of a reality that has come and the promise that it is to come.
We share the glory of God, the blessed hope of Christ’s return. Therefore, nothing shall separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Since God is for us, all things work together for our good and His glory. The eternal purpose of God is constantly moving toward the fulfillment of that one goal (Rom. 8:17-23, 30; Col. 3:4; 1 Pet. 4:13; 1 Cor. 15:49; 2 Cor. 3:18; Phil. 3:21; 1 John 3:2)
Abba Father, what a wondrous thought that You care so much about Your children that You allow us to participate even now as we will more fully when the great consummation comes (1 John 3:1-2.
Let us be ever mindful of Paul's timely advice: "Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God" (Colossians 3:1, The NET Bible). That is the best preparation for our coming glorification.
