THE GLORY OF GOD ( PART 21 )

THE GLORY OF GOD ( PART 21 )
THE ROD OF AARON
Yesterday we studied the symbolic meaning of the Almond Tree embedded in the Menorah.
I pointed out that it prophetically revealed the glory of our risen Lord and Saviour.
This metaphor of the resurrection becomes clearer when we study how the Rod of Aaron - also made of almond wood - budded and fruited overnight in the Shekinah Glory of the Holy of Holies.
After Aaron's authority as the High Priest was challenged by the other tribes of Israel, God commanded that each of the Twelve Tribes provide a rod; and only that of the tribe chosen to become priests will miraculously sprout overnight.
Aaron provides his rod to represent the tribe of Levi, and "it put forth buds, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds" as evidence of the exclusive right to the priesthood of the tribe of Levi ( Numbers 17:8 ).
Hebrews 9:4 tells us that the rod of Aaron was eventually kept in the Ark of the Covenant itself under the Mercy Seat of God.
Abba Father, You told Moses, “Buds will sprout on the staff belonging to the man I choose. Then I will finally put an end to the people’s murmuring and complaining against you” (Numbers 17:5). What transpired was that they left their rods before You in the Shekinah Glory of the Holy of Holies, and in the morning “Aaron’s staff, representing the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, budded, blossomed, and produced ripe almonds” (verse 8). Aaron’s rod did not just sprout buds; it brought forth flowers and fruit, a clear demonstration of Your resurrection power to give life to deadwood.
Verse 10 says, “And the Lord said to Moses: ‘Place Aaron’s staff permanently before the Ark of the Covenant to serve as a warning to rebels. This should put an end to their complaints against Me and prevent any further deaths."
Let today's devotion mark our holy reverence for Your Shekinah Glory that has the power to raise us even from the dead just as You raised Jesus from the dead ( Romans 8:11 ) by the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:11 New Living Translation (NLT)
11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
