THE LIVES OF THE PATRIARCHS #32

THE LIFE OF MOSES #14

GOD'S MOST HOLY NAME: YHVH #7

3 REVELATIONS OF YHVH'S NAME GIVEN TO MOSES #2

1. YHVH RAPHA ( Part 2 )

When the bitter waters of Marah were healed ( made drinkable ) at God's command, it was a sign of His covenant promise and a further revelation of His Name.

" For I AM  the Lord who heals you " ( Exodus 15:26 ).

Healing is not just something He chooses to do or not to do. Healing is who HE IS - it is His very nature reflected in His Name of YHVH.

But while God is the Healer of His people, the healing will primarily be accomplished through His Anointed Son.

During Jesus' three years of earthly ministry, He gave the world a glimpse of the complete healing God intends to bring about for all His creation.

But His healing ministry was not just centered on the physical. In fact, every healing miracle pointed to Jesus' ability to heal our deeper spiritual sickness of sin.

To the paralyzed man who was lowered from the roof into His presence at Capernaum, He said: " Be encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven " ( Matthew 9:2 ).

The spiritual significance of this miracle should not be lost - He is able to take away the sin that cripples and incapacitates us.

By healing the lady with the issue of blood for 12 years, He showed that He can stop the waste of spiritual power and life.

When Jesus raised Lazarus out of the tomb ( John 11 ) - a miracle which some regard as His greatest - He demonstrated that He brings back to life what sin has put to death, just by the power of His Word.

Let us pray.

Dear Jesus, so many of us are skeptical of Your healing miracles. Why? Because we do not understand You are the same God who identified Himself to Moses and his people as:

"I am the Lord ( YHVH ) who heals you ".

Lord, we are sick with sin. We need Your healing touch. Without it, we will surely die. Touch us today and heal us of doubt and the evil heart of unbelief.

Lord I believe, help my unbelief ( Mark 9:24 ).
