LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF JACOB#91

BENJAMIN #13

BENJAMIN AS AN ENDTIME SIGN #2

Why did God allow His Temple to be built in Benjamin's allotted territory of Jerusalem?

Why did God not choose any of the other tribal allotments of the tribes of Israel to place His divine Shekinah Presence among men on earth?

The answer will enable us to understand more of  Benjamin's Endtime significance.

1. Benjamin never betrayed Joseph like the rest of his ten other brothers. He was born later after his brothers sold Joseph off as a slave.

2. Benjamin who was as yet unborn did NOT bow down before Esau as his brothers and father did ( Genesis 33:3-7 ). Nor did he bow down before Joseph as his brothers did in Egypt ( Gen.42:6 ) before Joseph revealed his identity as their long-lost brother.

These are significant prophetic pointers why God chose Jerusalem as the place of His Presence and Name. For God is no man's debtor.

But the descendants of Benjamin did not always show themselves worthy of their ancestor, especially in connection with the shameful incident at Gibeah ( Judges 19 ).

Even so God did not allow the tribe of Benjamin to be totally annihilated. For God's prophecy delivered to Jacob at Bethel -  just before Benjamin's birth - was that "a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body" ( Gen.35:11 ).

Thus Benjamin's territory of Jerusalem was singled out and reserved for the worship of God at His Holy Temple which denoted His Presence on earth.

Such an honour was solely given to the tribe of Benjamin.

In the Endtimes, the Benjamin Anointing is upon those who will magnify God's Presence and Peace in the hearts of others through the spread of the gospel.

Like Joseph, he too was reconciled to his brothers who tried to wipe out all his descendants after the Gibeah incident.

Remember that Levi was pardoned by God as the murderer of the Shechemites to minister as priest unto God.

Now a transformed Benjamin will bring forth the Presence of God in our lives as our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit despite our many imperfections.

Indeed "Peace" is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22).

When the “God of all peace” comes to live inside a believing heart (1 Corinthians 6:19), He begins to produce His own characteristics in that life.

Such inner peace comes from exercising faith in the character of God and His Word.

We can have peace in the midst of challenges when we remember that “all things work together for the good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Inner peace resulting from a relationship with God allows us to keep things in proper perspective.

We can accept difficult situations on earth by remembering that our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20).

Such is our Endtime legacy of the Benjamite Anointing.
